We finally got the go ahead yesterday that we could come in and set up our rooms!!! The go ahead I've been waiting for all summer! :) So my fabulous TA and I met at school this morning with 5 kids in tow to get as much as we could accomplished.
I walked into my classroom looking like this...
House keeping area!
My teacher area!
Basically just a bunch of stacked boxes and furniture on top of furniture pushed to one side of the room! But I was very lucky this year I got to stay in the same classroom and grade level and we didn't have to take stuff off the wall because there was no painting this summer! So that definitely helped save in set up time! Yay!
So we worked hard! And 3.5 hours later although we weren't done with everything it looks a lot more like a classroom instead of a storage unit! Yay!
Check it out...
My new computer station area will be against that bullentin board we finished today! Still need to add my dividers and the focus board material but we got new fabric and border up! I think I'm going to love my laptops against that wall bc when folded down its easy to see the focus wall!
Teacher area where my computer will go!
Landon wanted to be in the pic! My reading center for a little revamp with an additional shelf for books close by! And students personal book bins ready for independent reading! Writing center got cut off in this pic but it's getting a makeover soon so no worries that there are no pics of that!
All the tables and chairs are set up too but I may have forgot to take a whole room pic with 5 kids around hehe! But no worries just the beginning ... If you know me there will be more pics to come as I add more to my classroom!
I still have a ton to do but what teacher doesn't? I am just so glad to have the big furniture in place with the help of my wonderful assistant! I mean really who gives up part of their summer to help a teacher set up their room for free??!! :) Dedicated educators that's for sure! So lucky to work with her!
I'll be back Monday for kinder camp planning and finish setting up! Then Tues-Fri I'll be getting to know all the new little Dolphins during kinder camp for half days! Can't wait to meet all of them! Then I can spend the afternoons working on all the other million things there's left to do in my classroom before school starts.
I can't believe it's almost back to school time! I sure will miss my summer days with my precious 3 year old daughter and our daily naps!! Now onto these other to do lists!
Be blessed!
